Tubing down the Clackamas.

17 Aug

Adam, Ginger, me and Adam’s friend went tubing a few weekends ago. It was so hot and tubing was the perfect way to cool down. We took two cars. The reason behind this is because you park one of the cars at the end point and the other car at the starting point because if you don’t then you’re walking for like an hour, while wet, carrying wet tubes, etc. etc. So, we parked my car at the end point and took Adam’s friend’s car up to the starting area.

The weekend before we went tubing down the Sandy River and left Ginger at home, but after seeing so many people with their dogs floating down with them, we had to buy her one and bring her. So….

She loves her new life jacket! It looks so cute on her! Adam is naked BTW.

Here they come!

Ginger sat on my lap the whole four hours down the river. At first she was a little nervous, well a lot nervous, but eventually she fell asleep.

So, the tubing ended, and we got to my car.

You might be wondering why all the stuff is on top of my car and not inside.. Well, we forgot my keys in Adam’s friend’s car which meant, we were locked out of my car and about a 25 minute drive back to his car.

I found some people that were heading back up to the starting point and asked if one of us could join them after telling the story about the keys. They said yes so Adam’s friend went. But, a few minutes later, he comes back to my car and tells us that they did the same exact thing we did.

We all split up and took different areas of the parking lot trying to find someone to drive one of us to the car.  But, we  were in competition with the other group of friends also looking for a ride up.

Luckily for me, I was walking a pretty darn cute dog when a girl came up to me and started playing with Ginger… She gave us a ride to the beginning point!

So, essentially it was Ginger that got us the ride.

Thank you Gingie!

Bridge Pedal 2009

9 Aug

I moved to Portland about 70 days ago. Since I’ve been here, I’ve been trying to experience all Oregon has to offer in some way or another.  Today Adam and I experienced the Bridge Pedal 2009. Obviously I have never done this before so we decided to do the short pedal with 14 miles instead of the other two with either 24 or 28 miles. We bought our new bikes a few weeks ago and this was a great ride to really see what they got and what we got.

We left out apartment and headed down to the waterfront. When we got there this is what we saw: Old people, young people, babies, unicycles, everything.

We made it over the last bridge and continued on our way.

What’s that I see in the distance!!! The finish line!

So after 14 miles of riding around Portland I was pooped and still had to ride another 20 blocks home, but I made it. Of course.

It was so good. Maybe I’ll update more often and closer to when something happened. Sounds like a good idea to me.
