Goldie the gymnasts

29 Sep

DSC_0336

Goldie started gymnastics a few weeks ago and while I was home I had to go to her class and watch. It felt so nice to watch her do this because since I moved I only hear stories about what is going on and now I was able to actually see for myself how awesome she is.

From the second Goldie entered that room I knew she was going to be awesome at it.

Sure enough… she was amazing! It really didn’t surprise me that Goldie was actually really really good at gymnastics because she is a super active little girl with more confidence that I have ever seen in someone her age… it makes me so proud to have her as my sister and best friend.

Goldie saw me taking photos and ran up to the window. It was so cute!

She was the only kid to do a complete hand stand!

I think she has more upper body strength than me. No lie.

Ryder was watching Goldie from another window and looked so cute so I had to take this photo.

It felt really good to be home.

Apples & Pear picking!

27 Sep

When I was home we all went apple and pear picking. It reminded me of last year when we went to the farm.

This photo above is from 08.

What’s really funny is that Goldie is wearing the same jacket and hat.

We first started picking apples.

I wonder what Goldie is thinking at this very moment.

He is in there somewhere!

There he is!

After we were done with picking apples… we walked over to the pear area.

My mom and I found a nest…

And Goldie found some tasty lookin’ pears to snack on.

Ryder decided he wanted to enjoy one also.

Next thing I know I see Goldie jumping up and down trying to reach a pear way up in the tree.

I had such an awesome time with my mom, Goldie, and Ryder. It was so great to spend time with them and doing what we do every year… pickin’.

Went back home.

22 Sep

Last Tuesday I went back to CT for my best friend’s wedding which was on Saturday. I spent some time with my family of course and that was awesome. I was so excited to see my little brother and sister… along with the rest of my family.

On Tuesday I got home around 6:30 PM and hung out with my siblings for a couple hours before mom said it was time for them to go to bed.

I took hundreds of photos.

I had the camera on me at all times. I didn’t want to miss anything that my siblings were going to do that I’ve never seen before. They have grown so much.

On Wednesday I had nothing planned except to visit my family. Goldie, Ryder, and I went over to MeMe’s (grandma) house and went to out brunch.

They loved their sweet glasses.

We took the ice cream back to the house and ate it there.

That’s my brother!!!!

My cousin Cheyenne took the school bus over when she got out to say heyyy.

Goldie is sooo cute!

I bought some things for Jen’s bachelorette party that was Thursday night and in the box was the bubble plastic. Goldie picked it up, put it on her head and said, “I look like a judge!”

I looked up at her and couldn’t believe it! What is this kid watching on TV?? The history channel? What happened to Nick? hahaha.

DSC_0161

So after playing all day together… we were all pooped.

DSC_0162

Gold and I had a little sleep over in the room I was sleeping in. A couple years ago I bought an episode of the little kid’s show, Caillou, so Goldie can watch it and she remembered about it. So I put it on for her.

Thursday we went apple and pear picking! . . . to be continued.

Ginger likes ginger!

8 Sep

Since Adam and I absolutely LOVE foods from across the world, such as Thai, we decided to buy a Wok. I didn’t know woks needed to be seasoned before cooking with them until Adam told me and so I googled how to “season a wok” and tons of sites and videos came up.

Before we started cooking, we took a trip to Uwajimaya and bought a ton of authentic Asian foods and sauces. I love this place!

Anyway…

While Adam seasoned the Wok… I decided to start cutting up the veggies for our chicken stir-fry dinner.

DSC_0197

Ginger decided to hang out with us in the kitchen while we were making dinner. Before I prepared the ginger we wanted to see if Ginger likes ginger.

DSC_0193Right then and there, she was probably thinking… “Closer… closer…”

DSC_0192

“Almost… almost…”

DSC_0194

“FINALLY!”

(check out that ear action)

Ok, enough fooling around… back to the veggies…

DSC_0200

Added some sauce

DSC_0208

DSC_0216Threw in the chicken and noodles and we were good to go:

DSC_0222

After enjoying the wonderful dinner  we decided next time we will change a few things:

1) Cut the veggies smaller

2) Use a lot more sauce

3) Don’t put as much food in the wok at one time

Adam also said he already wants a bigger wok and something to put on our stove so the wok can get so much more hotter than it was.

To conclude: Woks are amazing, Ginger eats ginger, Thai food is amazing, we loved dinner.

Just writing this post made me want Thai right now!
